Jaime Martínez Tolentino : un escritor puertorriqueño de la diáspora

Este prolífico escritor nacido en Salinas obtuvo grados académicos de la New York University y de la Sorbona, así como un Ph.D en francés de la Universidad de Madrid y otro Ph.D en español de la Universidad de Massachusetts. Enseñó lengua y literatura en la Universidad de Puerto Rico, la Universidad Interamericana, Purdue University, la Universidad de Massachusetts y en la State University of New York (Buffalo). De esta última se retiró en 2002.

Es autor de 13 libros y editor de otros 6. Esos libros, publicados en Estados Unidos, Alemania, España, Australia y Puerto Rico, tratan temas de literatura, historia y biografía e incluyen ensayos, obras de referencia, antologías de cuentos, piezas teatrales y memorias. La editorial Fundamentos de España publicó su obra de historia literaria Dos crónicas desconocidas de Lope de Aguirre (2012), la Australia’s ASJ Publishing sacó a la luz su obra en inglés The Other Island (2013) y en Miami, Florida la editorial La Pereza Ediciones publicó su libro de cuentos en español Cuando cae la noche (2013). Además de eso, ha publicado decenas de artículos en revistas y periódicos de Estados Unidos, Canadá, España, Venezuela, México, Perú, Italia, Colombia, Puerto Rico y a través de la Internet. Ha recibido premios literarios en Portugal, Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico. Asimismo, su obra se ha reseñado en dos libros sobre literatura y en un libro dedicado totalmente a su obra literaria.
